By Johnny Edward: Al Khartoum Watani manager, former Nigeria forward Emmanuel Amuneke, is pleased with the 0-0 draw his side recorded in their opening game in the Sudani Premier League at home to Al Shorta on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Al Khartoum Watani who were unbeaten during pre-season, scoring 17 goals in five games, failed to take their scoring chances during the encounter but Amuneke remains optimistic his side will make amends when they face Amral Atbara in their next league game on Tuesday.
“The boys did very well but were unlucky not to have scored,” Amuneke, who coached the Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to the FIFA U-17 World Cup title in 2015, told CSN.
“We must brace ourselves for the next challenge away from home which comes next Tuesday.
“It’s just the first round of matches and there’s an opportunity to get a win on Tuesday.”
